This is your classic Hong Kong Style Cafe. Service is fast and efficient, so you should know what to order when you sit down!
We had a bowl of wonton noodle soup, beef noodle soup, and a plate of crispy belly pork. Also had an iced lemon tea and kumquat tea.
Soups were really nice. Pork very crispy but too salty. Lemon tea too sweet and kumquat tea finished with a pile of undissolved crystals on bottom of cup.
Overall a little strong on the flavours but worth returning to. -

The place is super clean despite the exterior appearance. We were starving and ordered the BBQ pork and crispy pork over rice. The BBQ pork was a bit chewy probably been hanging around in the window for awhile. The bathrooms are super clean and wait staff are nice.

A restaurant can be judged in spades by walking in and asking what do you recommend. Here I got the typical english treatment in a very Chinese environment. Not a bad thing at all and the food they gave me was tasty enough
Chinese tea is plentifull, muchly welcomed as the lonely contractor in another city. It has that city cafe feel that calling it dingy would be unfair as it's clean and well looked after if not the most stylish cafe ever.
A chinese restaurant that serves food to the chinese has to be a good placed to eat with plenty of traditional dishes including chicken feet etc.
No alcohol is served here but there are other places for that and I would be more than happy coming here for food on a regular occurance.
Careful tho as it's cash only, so don't get caught out like I almost did and the pricing was great as well. Highly recommended -

Out of all the restaurants in Chinatown, this was definitely the busiest of them all. They have an amazingly cheap lunch special menu £5.60 for 2 courses. The hot and sour soup was a little different from what I'm used to... probably a little bit more sour. Beef with black bean sauce was really good - beef was really tender.
I had a little bit of food envy because other people were ordering dishes that looked much nicer than mine. -

The tables full of Chinese should give it away but this is the best Chinese for one-plate lunches/dinners. Steaming noodles, stir-fries, noodle soup, rice soup etc.
We get take away from here about once a week and it's always good. As I've traveled China extensively and lived in the USA, I know Chinese food well and with most places in Newcastle delivering a British-Chinese style food which is often too sweet and sour, then this is where I come for comfort food Chinese.
Recommened IF YOU CAN HANDLE IT Spicy Sesame Chicken which is ridiculously hot. Good roast meats, Salt and Pepper Pork chop, fired noodles, etc.
